BIOCLEAN - EU FP7
Role: Working Package 10 Lead, Industry Representative
Date: 2013 - 2015 BIOCLEAN was a European Funded Project under the FP7 programme. Lead Question: Are there bio-tech roots to degrade conventional plastics (PE, PP, PS, PVC)? "A consortium of 18 European and 1 Chinese member has investigated biodegradation and valorisation of conventional plastics, using a combination of physical/chemical pre-treatments and micro-organisms. The test cases studied will help better know the actual potential biodegradability of plastic wastes occurring in the terrestrial and marine environments and the major microorganisms involved and addressing marine litter in the Aegean Sea through improving monitoring tools and mitigation measures." [Source: EU Commission] The final Project Report can be read online of the EU Commission CORDIS website. My role as PlasticsEurope manage all actions and support from the consortium members and colleagues related to so called Working Package 10. WP10 - Dissemination, exploitation and knowledge transfer
