Clean Urban Delta Initiative - Rio de Janeiro
Role: Strategy Advisor, Solution Provider
Date: 2013 - 2015 How to create a clean Guanabara Bay and how to improve the waste and wastewater management infrastructure in Rio de Janeiro until the Olympic Games 2016? That was the question which inspired a group of companies and their experts under the lead of the Dutch Ministry in 2013. I got involved by the project leader as he got aware about project Floating Horizon and asked me if I could build it. Over the period of 3 years a large consortium of experts in waste, water management, marine liter, design, architecture and community engagement from the Netherlands and Rio de Janeiro joined, I was considered as Dutch and after an official finding mission in 2015 the team presented a catalogue of around 50 solutions to the authorities of Rio. I contributed across those years on voluntary basis and on behalf of project MARLISCO with/to three solutions (Marlisco P.60ff, Water Observer P.86ff, Mare Maker Hub P.204ff), supported the consortium coordination team and joined the delegation of the official finding mission to ensure a well balanced consortium, strategy and narrative. Download the final solution catalogue officially handed over by the Dutch Ministry to the City of Rio de Janeiro. |
